Impact absorbing heels cushion landings on hard surfaces
The Mayumi Yamase x Nike Air Force 1 Low Flyleather is a collaboration between the Tokyo, Japan based artist and Nike on an environmentally-friendly iteration of the iconic low-top shoe. Born from Yamase and Nikes May 2021 collection that also included a Blazer Low in a similar abstract design, the Air Force 1 Low seen here updates the silhouette in a freewheeling, do-it-yourself colorway with freehand-style graphics and detailing. The entire upper, save for the orange paint brush stroke on the Swoosh found on the lateral side of the left shoe, is dressed in white leather. The Swoosh on the right shoe is kept minimalist in white leather, a design trait that also appears on Yamases Blazer Low. Orange embroidered Nike branding appears on the white canvas heel tab in a freehand-style font. Additional paint brush-like graphics find their way onto the lateral side of the right shoe. The entire upper is constructed from at least 50% recycled leather fibers. A translucent gum rubber outsole completes the striking design.
